About Wits Health Consortium and The Research Assistant Post
Wits Health Consortium (WHC) is a prominent entity within the field of health research and clinical trials, known for its commitment to advancing healthcare through rigorous scientific inquiry and community engagement. Based in Johannesburg, WHC operates at the forefront of medical research, collaborating with renowned institutions and stakeholders to address critical health challenges.
Currently, WHC is actively seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to join their team. This role is pivotal in supporting WHC’s research initiatives, focusing on various day-to-day activities essential for the successful execution of research projects. The Research Assistant will play a crucial role in participant recruitment, ensuring diverse and representative study populations, which is fundamental to the validity and impact of WHC’s research findings.
In addition to participant recruitment, the Research Assistant will be responsible for data collection, ensuring meticulous and accurate capture of research data. This involves employing standardized protocols and procedures to maintain data integrity throughout the research process. Quality assurance measures will also be integral, ensuring that collected data meets rigorous standards for reliability and relevance.
Beyond data collection, the Research Assistant will collaborate closely with research nurses in the administration and management of sentinel surveillance sites. This includes providing logistical support, coordinating schedules, and assisting in the day-to-day operational aspects critical to maintaining the smooth functioning of research activities at these sites.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Diploma and Degree advantage)
- Valid driving license
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and Redcap
- At least 2 years’ experience in Research Environment
