Lastly, the receptionist will assist with various general reception duties, which may include answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and providing information to patients and visitors. Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF level 4 qualification.
  • Previous reception experience, ideally in a hospital setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Assist patients in accurately completing necessary forms and documents.
  • Collect and record admission and discharge information professionally and promptly, focusing on the needs of patients and visitors.
  • Conduct risk assessments for clients regarding affordability in compliance with the National Credit Act.
  • Proactively identify financial risks and communicate them to patients and the internal risk management team as per established protocols.
  • Collect payments following procedures and prepare daily financial registers, ensuring accountability for receipting functions as outlined in policy.
  • Manage the flow of information among doctors’ offices, patients, medical schemes, managed healthcare companies, and other service providers.
  • Maintain administrative records in the system and report statistics as needed.
