About the Internships

The Gauteng Department of Road and Transport is offering a range of internship opportunities aimed at providing valuable experience in various professional fields. These internships cover several critical areas within the department, including Asset Management, Chief Director HRM Office, and Human Resources Administration. Interns will gain hands-on experience in managing departmental assets, supporting HR functions, and understanding organizational structures and human resources strategies.

In addition to HR and asset management roles, the department is seeking interns for positions in Organizational Development, Compliance and Registration, and Supply Chain Management. These roles will provide exposure to improving organizational effectiveness, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing the logistics and procurement processes necessary for smooth departmental operations. Interns will contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support efficient and compliant practices.

Financial Accounting, Motor Vehicle Registration & Licensing, and Risk & Compliance Management are also key areas where internships are available. These positions will offer practical experience in managing financial records, processing vehicle registrations and licenses, and assessing and mitigating risks. Interns will learn about the financial and regulatory frameworks that underpin the department’s operations, contributing to accurate financial management and effective risk management strategies.

The internship program further includes roles in Provincial Registering Authority, Enatis and Revenue Management, Information Technology Systems, Operating Licensing, and Transport Policy & Inter-Government Relations (IGR). Interns will engage with provincial vehicle registration processes, revenue management systems, IT systems supporting departmental functions, licensing procedures, and the development of transport policies and inter-governmental relations. This broad range of opportunities aims to equip interns with a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted operations within the Gauteng Department of Road and Transport.

Requirement:

  • Applicants must be South African
  • Unemployed graduates between the ages of 18-35 and should not have been exposed to an internship programme before
