About The Border Management Authority

The South African Border Management Authority (SABMA) is a governmental organization tasked with overseeing and managing the borders of South Africa. Established in terms of the South African Border Management Authority Act of 2020, SABMA aims to enhance border security, facilitate trade and travel, and combat illegal activities such as smuggling and human trafficking.

Minimum Job Requirement, Knowledge and Competencies:

  • Candidates must possess a Grade 12 Certificate and at least a three-year qualification (NQF level 6 or 7) in Multimedia, Film & TV Production, or Graphic Design. Background checks will be conducted to assess integrity, and failure to meet acceptable standards will result in termination of services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in graphic design, digital content creation, information design, or digital technology is preferred. Familiarity with various digital design and graphic design tools, website, and social media platforms is essential. Proficiency in software for design and media editing, as well as computer literacy with the MS Office suite and related programs, is required.
  • Proficiency in utilizing design software and multimedia tools, along with digital content creation abilities, is necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to work independently are important. Effective communication and presentation skills, digital proficiency including photo and video editing, and the capability to manage time and meet deadlines are vital.
  • Responsibilities include designing and producing innovative digital and print content for the Border Management Authority, including website design and editing, digital material for online and print media, multimedia, and basic gamification designs. Generating graphic ideas, developing concept briefs, creating appropriate designs and infographics, and collaborating within a cross-functional design environment are key aspects of the role. Additionally, creating design videos is part of the responsibilities.
