Key Performance Areas:
- Executes the sorting and distribution of samples based on established standard operating procedures, ensuring specimens are directed to various laboratories/sites in the correct order of priority.
- Manages sample registration and addresses inquiries following established standard operating procedures.
- Oversees the dispatching of specimens for processing as per prescribed standard operating procedures, monitors progress, filing of reports, and handles queries and report delivery within specified turnaround times.
- Conducts hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples for processing in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures.
- Deals with administrative queries and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Tracks sample delivery progress by couriers to ensure timely receipt, processing, and result delivery in line with standard operating procedures.
- Identifies and resolves bottlenecks in pre-analytical laboratory processes promptly.
- Maintains cleanliness and prepares equipment in the workspace according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitors stock levels, orders additional stock, and ensures delivery to doctor’s rooms to maintain material availability.
- Represents the organization with professionalism and ethical conduct, applying customer care principles in interactions with medical professionals and staff in the medical pathology field.
- Manages the reception area, provides relevant information, directs clients to appropriate departments, and offers excellent customer service.
- Handles cash transactions from patients and ensures proper banking procedures are followed.
- Reports incidents, logs customer complaints, problem-solving, and manages tasks on the laboratory information management system in accordance with organizational policy.
- Prepares and scans patient forms into the laboratory scanning system (Oculus) and resolves scanning issues following standard operating procedures.
- Adheres to Lancet uniform protocols as outlined in standard operating procedures.
